S.S. Rajamouli (born on 10 October 1973) is a renowned Indian film director and screenwriter known for his blockbuster films in the Telugu film industry, specifically "Magadheera," "Baahubali: The Beginning," released in 2015, and its sequel, "Baahubali: The Conclusion," released in 2017, later "RRR" became global sensations and set new records at the box office.

 He is a recipient of various national and international awards including a New York Film Critics Circle Award, a Critics' Choice Movie Award, two Saturn Awards, and three National Film Awards. In 2016, the Government of India honoured him with the Padma Shri, for his contributions in the field of Art. In 2023, he was included on Time's list of the 100 most influential people in the world.

Bahubali: The Conclusion
The success of the RRR and Baahubali films catapulted S.S. Rajamouli to international fame and established him as one of the most influential and successful directors in Indian cinema. Bahubali became the biggest hit of Indian cinema. It was made on an estimated budget of Rs 250 crore and earned over Rs 1800 crore whereas RRR grossed Rs over 1200 crore at the worldwide box office.  RRR created history by winning Golden Globe Award   for the first time in India and Naatu Naatu from "RRR" wins best original song at the Oscar.  


Rajamouli has been described by film trade analyst Komal Nahta as "the biggest Indian film director ever". Rachel Dwyer, professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema at SOAS, called him "India's most significant director today"
